Visiting Miss Madalyn

We recently went over to the Dunnings new home to visit with Melissa and Courtney and of course little miss Madalyn Grace. She is so sweet and tiny! And all her dark hair is gorgeous. She is absolutely precious and has changed so much already!

Cade kept giving Madalyn kisses over and over. And we kept oo-ing and aw-ing over it. In the picture below, he is looking up at Melissa to see her reaction while he kisses Madalyn. Too cute!

Cade's 1st Haircut

Cade's daddy took him to get his very first official haircut recently. It was quite an event and we have probably 25 more pictures, but here are some of my favorite.
The "before" shots. I can't believe how red his hair looks in this picture. It really isn't that red, but certain light brings it out I guess.
Waiting patiently
Several priceless photos...
I think he looks like me when I was little in the picture below.
Calming down finally.
All done!
That wasn't too bad...I think I'll come back!

Surgery Update

Well as many of you know Cade had his adenoids taken out today and tubes put in his ears. I just wanted to let everyone know how it went. He was the first patient of the day and we arrived at 6:45 a.m. at Same Day Surgery. He got right in and looked so sweet in his little gown. We managed to part ways although it wasn't easy and the whole thing was over in less than an hour. The worst part was recovery. We walked back to the recovery room and he was upset but the nurses did great at trying to console him. We immediately took him and he fell in and out of sleep several times before the anestesia (sp?) wore off. He did manage to stay awake for a half an hour to watch the Doodlebops but then fell right back to sleep after that. He must have been trying hard to stay awake so he could watch the whole episode. We were headed home by 11:15 and he went back to sleep when we got home and has since been outside playing and completely back to normal. The doctor said he use to have probably 30-40% hearing ability before the surgery today. So this should do wonders for him. And apparently his adenoids were huge thus blocking airways and causing him to be quite a mouth breather. All in all it went really well and hopefully we will have a new kid on our hands. And maybe he will even mind us a little better now that he can hear what we're saying! And a special thank you to a certain nurse who was able to be right there with him by his side. It made all the difference knowing he had her with him and I'm sure it did the same for him as well, having a familiar face in that situation. Thanks also to his grandmas for stopping by for support and to check on their baby. Well, I'm turning in. I'm absolutely pooped and am back to reality tomorrow. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers that were sent Cade's way today! Happy Friday everyone!
