Grampa Jay & Owen's birthday

Okay, so I didn't get any pictures of the actual birthday party for Owen since my camera battery was dead. But here are some pictures of the "actual" day of my dad and Owen's birthday. Enjoy!

What's new?

Well, not much is new in the Brooks' household, other than Cade is having trouble sleeping through the night now. Just after 2 months, he was sleeping through the night- 8 hours or more. Now, ummm, not so much. It's sort of like starting all over. He really spoiled us there for a while. Anyhow, it is definitely worth the lack of sleep. His great big little smile just makes all our worries go away and reminds us how lucky we are.

The past two weeks have been pretty busy since my cousin and her son Owen were here. I still have plenty of pics from that to post, which I will get around to someday. For now, I am just anxiously waiting for my cousins from Texas to come visit next week for my grandpa Youngman's 90th birthday. We are excited since it's been a year since we've seen them. And they will finally get to meet Cade!

We are also anxiously waiting for my friend Brooke's baby girl to arrive. She is scheduled to be induced in just a couple of weeks, so not much longer! We are looking forward to meeting her and finding out her name for the first time.

Hope everyone is doing well and cheering on the Salukis!

Pictures of Cade

Finally sitting in his seat!

My how time flies when you're having fun. Cade is now rolling over from back to stomach and just amazing us everyday with something new it seems like. It's hard to believe he's almost 5 months old. Seems like yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital.

A shower for baby girl Guthman

On Saturday, I helped host a baby shower for my good friend Brooke. Here are some pictures of the decorations, food, etc. It was a pink and chocolate brown theme and took place at her cousin's home. It was a beautiful day and turned out really well. Mommy-to-be and her baby girl received a lot of nice gifts and are pretty well set. Brooke has a little less than 4 weeks to go! Can't wait!

MVC tournament and other pics

This past weekend we went up to St. Louis to the Missouri Valley Conference Basketball Tournament. The Youngman and Brooks clan met the Thrailkills and Trowers up there. It was a pretty good time, despite the fact that we waited practically 3 hours to eat at The Cheesecake Factory. At least we got to shop a little! Needless to say, we were all very hungry and took some cheesecake to go! I recommend the Dulce Caramel something rather (I couldn't pronounce it and had to have Matt Trower translate for me). After all that waiting, I managed to order a plain old cheeseburger. I was trying to make a fast decision, but that certainly didn't pay off. It was not so good and DEFINITELY not worth the wait. Oh well, I had good company to eat with. After dinner, we headed over to the Trower residence in St. Charles. We watched miss Adyson go to bed in her cheerleading uniform and ate our cheesecake. It was so good I even ate it for breakfast the next morning. Cade did pretty well on his first overnight stay. Here are a few pics.

Changing Time!

Cade and his mommy (who never gets her picture taken with her boy!)

My cousin Sarah and her son Owen are now here to visit for 2 weeks. In that time, Owen will celebrate his 2nd birthday! We're so excited we get to spend it with him! We haven't seen each other since Christmas, so we were all anxious to see how Owen had grown as Sarah was to see Cade. Owen is quite the big boy and just cuter than ever! Here are a few pictures of the boys.

Owen-getting bigger by the minute!
Cousins

Big boys do it too- Cade has been teething I guess and chewing on his hands quite a bit. I got a quick picture of the two of them with their hand in their mouth. Too cute!

Super Bowl Sunday

Cade and I have been under the weather lately, but it didn't keep us from cheering the Bears on Sunday! Guess we didn't cheer hard enough since they didn't pull through. Oh well, at least they made it that far! We had a good time anyway and thought I'd post a pic of our family in their Chicago gear. I think we won the award for biggest fans! Although I didn't watch much of the game, just enough to know they were losing :( I wore the jersey for my husband.

Sweet Baby

Here is a sweet picture that I thought was neat because of the colorful quilt in the background. It really brings out his blue eyes.
