Holiday Pics and Prayers Answered

Christmas morning...
A drumset and a tricycle Cade had that we finally put together! Cade's favorite character from the Doodlebops is Moe-the drummer. And I must say, Christmas morning was wonderful being settled in our new home and having a healthy new baby boy. What a relieved and peaceful feeling that was!

These two were having a blast and were repeating anything the other one did.
Cameron's 1st birthday party! I didn't get a picture of him with his cake or anything, just this one of Cameron and Cade looking oh so cute! Hopefully his momma will show off the highlights from his big day on her blog soon.
Just a cute pic of Papa Jay & Cade
One night over the holidays, we had all my family that was in town over for dinner-well, pizza- I didn't cook or anything :) These are just a couple of pics of Owen and Cade that I thought were cute. They are little red faced from running and playing the entire evening. They have the best time together as long as they are not wanting the same toy!
Christmas night

Christmas Eve pics below...

Gramma Gaye and sweet baby Cash- or 10 pounds of Cash as she would say :)
Cade's Thomas the Train helmet which he loves! He thinks it is a football helmet and runs around saying "hut-hut". He has knee pads too. It is a wrestling match trying to get them off of him every night, but totally worth it I guess to see that smile. Thanks Gramma Gaye and Papa Jay!
In other news, my brother Matt and his wife Jessica are expecting their first child in August! I am ecstatic to say the least!!! I absolutely cannot wait as I have seen how wonderful they are with both of my boys. They are truly going to be the most loving parents anyone could ask for. God help them if it is a girl, because I will be spoiling her rotten. They should find out the gender sometime in April so we are all patiently waiting!
And last, but certainly not least, I must give a shout out to the dear Lord and thank him for answering our prayers Christmas Eve night when my father, out of nowhere, started having severe pains as if his hernia had returned and fell to the floor and could not get up. We called 911 and they took their own sweet time to get there. He was in so much pain he begged and begged the EMTs to give him something for the pain on the way over which they normally cannot do, but finally did after seeing how bad he really felt. So off to the ER he went and come to find out, well nothing actually. We found out nothing. They never could tell what it was related to but it wasn't his hernia-so they say. They released him about 2:00 am Christmas morning and all was back to normal. We had a wonderful and blessed Christmas day!

Cade and Cash

Meeting for the first time!
It really wasn't this bad...Cade just didn't want to sit still for a picture.
We have a basketball with Cade's footprints on it, so this time we chose a football for Cash. And of course this was taken minutes after Cash was born. I just had to have a picture of his weight to prove to everyone and myself that this kid really was practically 10 pounds! I love how they're looking at each other in this picture. So sweet!

There's a New Kid in Town!

The Brookses have added a new member to their brood! Welcome...

Cash Eli Brooks
9 lbs., 15.7 oz
21 in.
12.20.08 at 3:32pm

No, that's not a typo, he was nearly 10 lbs! In fact, the nurse said it was safe to just call it an even 10! And how about that name! I think it's just adorable. They've been tossing around a few different names for the last few months and Cash actually didn't come to them until just last night. Eli is Beth's way of getting her name in there somewhere (the first 3 letters of her name) since she lost out on that with a girl! She was given pitocin this morning at about 7am. She seemed to progress slowly all morning and then all of a sudden things picked up and after about 5 minutes of pushing, little Cash made his debut. His face is a little blue and bruised because he came through so quickly but the doctors say it should go away in a day or two. I talked to Beth a little while ago and Mom and baby are both doing well tonight. She is tired and still trying to grasp the fact that she is a Mama to 2 boys! It just doesn't seem like a reality yet! Here are a few pictures that Aunt Debbie took shortly after Cash was born:

I cried when I saw this. Isn't it just so sweet?
Big Brother Cade spent the day at Aunt Debbie's house playing with Maddy and having a grand old time:
I'm pretty sure he's oblivious to the fact that his entire world is about to be rocked. They showed him pictures of Cash and Mommy tonight and he just kept saying, "That's MY mommy! That's my mommy!" They told him that was his new baby, too, but he didn't seem to get it. He only cared that his mommy was in that picture! I've seen this boy with babies though and I know he is just going to fall in love with Cash!
Daddy went home to spend the night with Cade while Grammy Gaye is staying at the hospital with Mom and Cash. Cade will meet his new brother some time tomorrow. I think Beth is hoping to be out of the hospital by tomorrow evening. I'm sure someone will post more pics soon! Congrats to the Brookses!

Long time, no post

So we are officially moved in but are without internet for the time being. Taking one thing at a time I guess. Most importantly, we are trying to get things settled before baby # 2 arrives! So my next post could very well be an addition to our family. Anyhow, hopefully I will get the opportunity to check in from time to time, but until then hope all is well with everyone and Happy Holidays!!!

Trick or Treat

Here are a couple of pics from Halloween night. My camera had a dead battery so my cell phone was all I had! Cade was a little soldier. You can't see his face very well because he refused to wear the army hat that came with the outfit and wanted to wear his new camo hat he got for his b'day instead :) He also had to wear his "Owie" shoes instead of the brown ones we had intended for him to wear. Oh, what fun! He had a good time walking up to the Brock's home, but I don't think he quite got the whole trick or treat thing. Oh well, he looked cute trying at least!

It's official!

My baby boy is now 2 years old. And so hard to believe he will be a big brother in just 2 months! More pics to come from his big day, but I wanted to go ahead a post this one I took from my phone.

32 Weeks

Okay, so baby #2 has totally gotten the shaft on pregnancy photos. I've taken a few pics, just not quite as frequent as I did with Cade. So I thought I better finally get around to posting at least one before the little bro or sis gets here.

Gearing up for Halloween

This weekend we went up to Matt & Megan's along with Jared & Maria for Halloween fun! The kids dressed up in their costumes for our trip to Grant's Farm, and then to the pumpkin patch the next morning. The kids had a great time together but had a little trouble cooperating for group pictures. Imagine that!
The first group picture at the pumpkin patch.
...and several pictures later.
A great family photo ;)
riding the "choo-choo" as we called it. Cade fussed a little bit so we put him in the barrel with Adyson. He still wasn't too sure about it.
But when he arrived back to the beginning, he was all smiles!

Having breakfast earlier that morning. Poor Adyson didn't have a chair and wanted sit by the boys!
