An Early Christmas Present...

Hello everyone, it's Megan.... Beth asked me to post for her (since she can't do it from work) to let everyone know that Sarah's water broke this morning at 7 a.m. She is just 35 weeks and wasn't due until the 19th of January!! Beth said she has been having some back labor recently so she had a feeling that he would be coming early, but had no idea it would be this early. She has rushed off to the hospital with Owen in tow, after having NOTHING packed as of this morning. But we should expect some news hopefully soon, about Cameron Joseph's arrival!!
Stay tuned......

UPDATE - Cameron Joseph has arrived. Mom and baby are both doing well. He was born around 11:30 this morning. 5lbs 5oz. and 18 3/4 inches long, with dark curly hair. Beth had talked to Cody briefly but was still waiting for Sarah to call her back to get the full details. I'm sure pictures will be posted just as soon as they are available!

Helping Dad put up the Christmas tree

The many faces of Cade in front of our Christmas tree. It's not completely decorated, but I had to take some quick pics of him when we first put it up.

Thanksgiving

Okay, so I'm a little behind at posting these pictures. These are from Thanksgiving at Gramma Debbie's house. Cade found this little chair that his gramma got out for him. He just loves it and it is just his size!

What's new

Just a little update on the Brooks Family. Not every post comes with a picture I guess. I am finding less and less time to "blog" as my little guy is keeping me very busy. He is walking all over the place. He actually began walking over the long weekend of Veteran's day. And has been going non-stop ever since. I wish I could post a video of him for you out-of-towners but I can't get it to work. Our house planning is coming along. We are hoping to start in March so it is just around the corner. Our next project is to get this house ready to sell. The hardest part will be getting all the clutter out of sight. But we have really enjoyed this home. We put a lot of work into it...well, my dad, brother, and husband did anyway. And we have made many memories here in the short time we've lived here. But we are ready for something a little bigger and more secluded.

We are anxiously waiting for baby Cameron to arrive. It should make things a little more interesting in the Muhs household (as if it isn't already). Owen is growing up so fast and couldn't be more ready to be a big brother! Sarah is scheduled to have a c-section on January 14th, but it could be a little sooner - she's been feeling what she thinks might be contractions already. I can't wait! We are planning to go in February to meet the little booger. Well, happy holidays to everyone!

Happy Birthday Gramma Debbie!

Happy birthday to gramma Debbie! We love you so much and hope you have a wonderful day. We can't wait to celebrate! Love you!

Reggie and Lisa's Wedding

Congrats to Reggie and Lisa! The wedding was beautiful and the weather could not have been more perfect. And little Braden was a perfect angel!
Matt and Reggie
These two became good friends while playing basketball at John A. Logan. Reggie actually introduced the two of us and that's how it all began. They've been friends ever since.

Jeremy and Lindsey

Robin and Ashley

Some of my very best friends from high school (and a few of their girlfriends). This was probably the highlight of my night. I was ecstatic to see them since I don't get to very often anymore. It was just like old times. We had a blast and it was so refreshing to see everyone.

First Birthday Pics

So Cade's 1st birthday went pretty well despite the fact that we discovered on Friday night he had a double ear infection and 103 temperature - sometimes 104. Friday evening and Saturday morning were probably his worst times, but he perked up a little for his party. Still, the temperature just wouldn't go away and lasted through Monday. We ended up in Prompt Care again on Monday evening due to a rash he had developed from his antibiotics. So we switched his medication and the rash was gone pretty quickly. However, Cade is now done with his 10 days of antibiotics and is still pulling at his ears. So thankfully, he has his 1 year well check tomorrow. We will know more then hopefully. Anyhow, here are just a few of Cade's 1st birthday pics. They are a bit large b/c I forgot to change my settings. Anyhow, I don't have very many pictures of the actual party b/c my camera was out of battery, but I have been told that the papparazzi (sp?) got the perfect shots of him digging into his cake. I have yet to see those, so for now, these will just have to do. And yes I know what you're thinking...how could I let my camera battery go dead on my child's 1st birthday! Well, I did, and I relied on the other 14 people who brought cameras to get a decent picture or two. And as every other mother knows, there just isn't time to take pictures on a day like this! Here he is with his pumpkin cake (which was absolutely adorable thanks to my cousin Sarah!)
The ever-so-famous pumpkin shaped cake made by Sarah. It hardly took any time at all and she was done. She couldn't believe it. But it turned out perfectly! I contributed to the cake by making the "1" with reeses pieces and putting on the stem. It was a lot of fun!
We carved 1's in all the pumpkins for a little decoration.

Here are a few pics of us preparing for the big day.
Grampa Jay and dad getting our pumpkins ready for carving.
Aunt Sarah carving the first "1". Dad was proud to be contributing to the party planning and preparation by carving the very best "1" of them all. His pumpkin was even good enough to take to Cade's professional 1 year picture session!

Cade checking out his pumpkin cake. He had the biggest smile on his face when we put him up there to see it. Cade tries a little bit of the icing.
New Toys
Cade enjoying his new ride from Grampa Bryan. He loves this thing. Actually, he loves ALL his new toys for his birthday. I can truly say that he plays and is intrigued by everything he got. But I had to post this picture for his grampa since it reminds him of when Cade's daddy use to ride around on one when he was only 9 months old. Too cute!Mommy and daddy decided to give Cade his little red car a few days early. He loved it and has now discovered that he can climb out the window on to the couch when it is pushed up against it.
He was checking it out pretty closely.

This was just a cute picture of Owen in his new Thomas the Train outfit on the day of Cade's party. This boy loves Thomas. And apparently pumpkins too! We went to Hobby Lobby and every aisle we went down, he'd say "pumpkin? pumpkin? wanna see a pumpkin?" It was too cute. So he was pretty excited to get his picture taken with a pumpkin!
Here he is helping his Auntie Gaye (my mom) pick up all the sticks in our backyard. He was so helpful! Auntie Gaye gave him this little duty so that his mommy and I could start decorating the cake. He seems to really enjoy doing yard work Cody! Such a cutie- and the most polite little 2 year old you could ever meet. Well, I have lots more pictures I need to post. Some family pictures and a great one of Cade and all his cousins from the party, so stay tuned. Hopefully I will get them soon!
