Prayers for baby Cameron
Unfortunately the past few days haven't been so great around the Brooks household as us, my parents, my grandma and an entire group of people that were at a party we attended over the weekend had all come down with some sort of stomach flu. It started hitting all of us, one person after the next. Fortunately, it only lasted for just about a day or so and we have been praying that Cade doesn't catch it. But we have thankfully recovered and are back to reality. However, I can't say the same for my cousin Sarah and her newborn son, Cameron. He developed a staph infection due to a sore on his body and is now being treated in the hospital until it clears up. Cody and Sarah and especially Cam, have been through a whirlwind of events since he was born. Between him arriving early and the concerns with that, the cold he got soon after, and now this, they have definitely dealt with more than they ever expected to at this point. He is just now a month old and was actually admitted to the hospital on Jan. 19th which was in fact his due date. But the doctors seem hopeful that the infection should clear up now within about a week. So while Sarah is at the hospital 24/7 by Cameron's side, Cody is at home with little Owen teaching him some new tricks. I got a phone call last night from them that lead me to believe Sarah may not be buying and changing two sizes of diapers for too much longer! Wouldn't that be a nice surprise for her to come home too! So keep up the good work Cody! Sarah was able to make a short trip home today to catch up with Owen and do a few things before heading back to Cam's side. Cody and Sarah are all each other have up there and are great support for each other. I know all of their family and friends are reaching our hearts out to them since we unfortunately cannot lend a hand to them being so far away. Our thoughts and prayers mean so much to them right now. My aunt and mom are leaving for Iowa Thursday morning for more support and to allow Cody to be at Cam's side too. It has been hard on them being 45 minutes away from each other and Sarah alone at the hospital as she hears all of this news and sees all of this going on. But Cameron is going to get through it and continue to be the little fighter he has been. Please keep them all in your prayers.
