Visiting Miss Madalyn

We recently went over to the Dunnings new home to visit with Melissa and Courtney and of course little miss Madalyn Grace. She is so sweet and tiny! And all her dark hair is gorgeous. She is absolutely precious and has changed so much already!

Cade kept giving Madalyn kisses over and over. And we kept oo-ing and aw-ing over it. In the picture below, he is looking up at Melissa to see her reaction while he kisses Madalyn. Too cute!

Cade's 1st Haircut

Cade's daddy took him to get his very first official haircut recently. It was quite an event and we have probably 25 more pictures, but here are some of my favorite.
The "before" shots. I can't believe how red his hair looks in this picture. It really isn't that red, but certain light brings it out I guess.
Waiting patiently
Several priceless photos...
I think he looks like me when I was little in the picture below.
Calming down finally.
All done!
That wasn't too bad...I think I'll come back!

Surgery Update

Well as many of you know Cade had his adenoids taken out today and tubes put in his ears. I just wanted to let everyone know how it went. He was the first patient of the day and we arrived at 6:45 a.m. at Same Day Surgery. He got right in and looked so sweet in his little gown. We managed to part ways although it wasn't easy and the whole thing was over in less than an hour. The worst part was recovery. We walked back to the recovery room and he was upset but the nurses did great at trying to console him. We immediately took him and he fell in and out of sleep several times before the anestesia (sp?) wore off. He did manage to stay awake for a half an hour to watch the Doodlebops but then fell right back to sleep after that. He must have been trying hard to stay awake so he could watch the whole episode. We were headed home by 11:15 and he went back to sleep when we got home and has since been outside playing and completely back to normal. The doctor said he use to have probably 30-40% hearing ability before the surgery today. So this should do wonders for him. And apparently his adenoids were huge thus blocking airways and causing him to be quite a mouth breather. All in all it went really well and hopefully we will have a new kid on our hands. And maybe he will even mind us a little better now that he can hear what we're saying! And a special thank you to a certain nurse who was able to be right there with him by his side. It made all the difference knowing he had her with him and I'm sure it did the same for him as well, having a familiar face in that situation. Thanks also to his grandmas for stopping by for support and to check on their baby. Well, I'm turning in. I'm absolutely pooped and am back to reality tomorrow. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers that were sent Cade's way today! Happy Friday everyone!

On the move

Just wanted to let everyone know we sold our house! After a month or so of having it for sale by owner, we just couldn't handle the pressure anymore not knowing when or if we would sell it before the new one is built. So we listed it with a realtor one day, and sold it the next! It was quite a relief. We close on our house April 30th and as long as everything goes as planned, we will be moving to an apartment in Murphysboro for the time in between. Our new house is not expected to be done until probably late fall. In the mean time, we will be having our mail sent to my parent's address, 11 Louis Wides Dr, M'boro, in case anyone needs our address for something. Not much is new with the building progress other than the basement walls were poured today and will now have to sit for several days. Slowly but surely!

In other news, Cade will be getting tubes in his ears and his adenoids taken out on the first of May. He has had 4 ear infections in 6 months so it is time to do something to help this kid breath and hear. He saw an ENT recently and failed his hearing test, not terribly, but we were and weren't surprised to hear that result. On the one hand, we've never noticed him hard of hearing and on the other hand, things have got to be kind of muffled to him with all the fluid in his ears. So the ENT suggested he get tubes. And he is quite the mouth breather so the adenoids will be removed as well.

So, that's all for now. The weekend is almost here!

Easter and Cameron's Baptism Pics

Easter Sunday was a busy day for the Youngman/Glodo clan. We went to mass that morning where we had Cameron's baptism as well. Then went to my moms for Easter lunch and the egg hunt. The boys had fun playing together all day. Cade was really into the egg hunt and kept going around picking them up while Owen made a pit stop to check out the loot in the eggs! It was pretty cute. Here are some pics from our day.

Kids Night Out

Friday night we took the kids to eat at El Bajio and then out for some bowling. My cousin Sarah and her husband, the Calverts, and the Elricks all came along with their kids. My cousins Maddy and Danielle and my brother and sister-in-law came along too to get in on the fun! It was a crazy night, but a lot of fun watching them all bowl.

Look at these two! They couldn't keep their hands off each other! ;)

The Doodlebops were a success!

On Saturday, Cade, his dad, and grampa Jay all went to see the Doodlebops. Grampa got suckered into going along since I was hosting a baby shower that same day. But they had a great time and really enjoyed seeing Cade watch the show. Although he didn't have quite the surprised reaction I was hoping for, they said he still had a pretty good time. Apparently, he just stared at them in amazement the entire first half wondering how the heck they got out of the television. The show was an hour or so long and they had a 30 minute intermission. Can you believe that? A 30 minute intermission? Dad and Grampa said the kids were going a little bit stir crazy. So Cade snacked a little, danced a little, and then was ready to go for the second half. Here are some pics of his big day! Thanks Dad and Grampa for taking our little guy! I would have loved to had a hidden camera on the three of you! :)

This must have been the first half.
